In our last spondylolisthesis blog post we discussed a few possible everday enemies of your spondylolisthesis.  One of these enemies that deserves extra attention is the dreaded prolonged sitting.

Excessive sitting is becoming an epidemic that is not just affecting your spondylolisthesis or spondylolysis, but it could be affecting your overall health as well.  I have read reports and studies that suggest the average individual spends anywhere from 8-10 hours seated per day.

But don’t just stop sitting becaues it may help your spondy.

I found this article on the website lifehacker.com and it not only gives some fascinating statistics, but it also highlights some ways you can counteract all of your sitting.

These statistics really don’t touch on how and why sitting can make your spondylolisthesis pain worse, but stay with me because I am going to explain more.
